Did Kavis get swallowed up by the swamp?

The party had teleported back to town.  The party members run a few errands and get a restful night’s sleep.   There is a discussion on if Hammish, the wagon driver, was still alive.   Gubikla tried to scry him through his crystal ball, but got a “Please try again later” message.    Hammar cast a sending spell, asking “Are you still alive”. He gets a response of yes.  So now there is a discussion on how to travel out of town.  Pete tries to get Othello to fly out to find Hammish and send him back.  But Othello does not want to go two day out.  Talin breaks down and rents another wagon with some oxen.  Tetranac buys a cask of ale for Talin and Othello buys a couple of kegs of beer.  The party heads out and makes it back to the Old Oak without any excitement. Amber meets Hammar at the door with a bill that Hammish has racked up.  Then the wench gives him a bill and the smith walks out and gives Hammar another bill for wagon upgrades.

The party settles in.  Othello and Talin have some smoked pork and a beer and then head out on the porch for a smoke after buying some Three Barrel tobacco.  They both see a shadow cross the moon.  Talin seemed to get a better view of whatever it was then Othello.  Talin puts out his pipe but then thinks twice and relights it and stands there acting like nothing happened.  Thinking it could not have been what he thought he saw.  Othello decides to climb up the porch to see if he can’t hid under the porch roof line to possible jump on anything coming in.  Tetranac goes out on the porch to see what is going on.  He made it outside just  in time to get blast of ice that covered the porch from something flying by that also rattled the Inn.  Tetranac promptly goes back into the Inn and stands by the fire to warm up.  Talin runs out to take cover under the old oak tree and yells “Dragon”.  Othello drops down and slides across the ice covered porch and heads to the smithy where his griffon “Kacerat”.   Bone and Pete wake up and head out to the common room.  Pete cast greater invisibility on himself before heading out.  When Pete gets out to the common room he sees Tetranac standing near the fireplace.  Gubikla and Mightychondria are at the bar.  Bone is walking over.  He cast Bless on them and tries to figure out what is going on by walking over to the window.  Amber is behind the bar loading a crossbow.  Mightychondria steals a goblet and a large brass spoon.  Tetranac walks over and gets some stew to “warm up his insides”.   Bone goes out on the porch with his sword lit up and searches for the Dragon.  Pete opens up the shutters and looks out the window.  Othello makes it to Karcerat and mounts up and takes off.  Talin yels “Dragon” again as he is hiding behind the tree.  The Dragon makes another pass and this time it catches Kacerat as Othello rotatest his path to try and avoid the attack.  It also hits Bone and Pete as he is looking out the window.  The frost outlines Pete briefly making Tetranac think he has seen a spectral being in the room.  So he cast faerie fire and ends up outlining Bone and Gubikla.  He then activates his cloak and goes invisible.  Pete then closes the window shutters and goes over to the patio and heals the party that he can see.  Mightychondria intimidates Amanda to give him the crossbow and heads outside to find the Dragon.  Hammar finally wakes up and heads outside and misses with a guiding bolt.  Othello feeds Kacerat a potion of healing and climbs in altitude to try to get in position for the Dragon’s next pass.   Talin drinks a potion of Frost Giant strength and climbs the tree.  Tetrranac makes his way over to the roof of the smithy and takes aim for the Dragons next approach.   Bone is irritated that the Dragon did not come into melee  range goes out and starts trying to wave the dragon down.  Mightychondria ties off a rope around a bolt and the tree.  As the Dragon comes in for its next pass.  Tetranac shoots his lighting bow but it just misses the Dragon and now the Dragon is fixed it eyes on the now visible.  The Dragon swoops in and grabs Tetranac.  Kacerat dive in and attacks the Dragon’s back and draws first blood.  Othello shoots a bolt into the Dragon as well.   Pete grabs Bone and Dimension Doors to the back of the Dragon.  Mightychondria shoot the crossbow and hits the Dragon but the rope does not hold enough to bring down the best.  Gubikla shoots a Magic Missile at it.   Talin jumps off the tree and hits the Dragon between the wings and somehow manages to hold on as the Dragon does a barrel roll.  This sends Tetranac flying upward and Pete falls.  Pete cast another dimension door to get back on the Dragon, but fails to grab ahold and fall down anyway.  He ends up landing in the chicken coop and in the process, destroys it.  Bone manages to hold on and still get some good sword attacks in after Gubikla finds Pete’s idea intriguing and is able to cast his own dimension door along with spider climb on himself and Bone.  Unfortunately Gubikla gets his hat blown off in the process.  Othello gets one more shot into the Dragon before getting out of range.  Talin grapples the Dragon and starts to choke it.  The Dragon gets one more cold breath off directed at the people on it back.  Mightychondria tries to seduce the Dragon now that it is hurt.  Talin chokes the Dragon and now the dragon is falling from the sky and crashes into the grown killing itself.  Bone manages to jump off and float down with his feather fall boots.  Gubikla somehow manages to avoid most of the damage by running back off the Dragon’s tail as it hit the ground.

Othello flies by the Dragon and tells Talin to get him some scales as he goes back and gets the wagon and some empty barrels to collect blood in.  He also collects the chef that comes out to cut some dragon steaks.  The rest of the party manages to get to the Dragon and start scaving anything of value.  Pete decides to cut into the stomach and see if anything good was swallowed.  Unfortunately he did not take into account the pressure and stomach acid that squirts out and knocks him unconscious.  Leaving the “non-real” cleric to bring him back.

COD = Pete for his great dimension door idea and then trying it again as he was falling but failed.
