Adventure 138 – The hunt for Goblins.

After the night’s rest the group decides to go to Wald to see if they can find out anything about this book “Lost hunger of Huvar” and see if Tory is up to no good.  On the way they run into another cart and they say the road is clear.  We warn them about the Goblins and they are surprised that they are this far south.

Making it to Wald find the town about the same size but it looks to be built on a hill that was once used for something in the ancient past.   The bridge that leads into town is really old and the cobblestone road is old but not as old as the bridge. There is a three story and tree tiered brew house and inn.  The smithy has three forges. There is also a temple of Blowmus and a chemist. Along with a few other buildings. After staying at Spratz brewery for the night they get up and visit the town.  Everything seems to be in place with the exception of the continued talk about the tourist season, just like Bresk but we can’t figure out why there would be tourist in these towns. The Priest is taking care of the orphans and thanks us for our gifts. The smithy seems to be making tools for farming as expected but indicates he can make other things on request and does so frequently for tourists.  On making it to the chemist they find Tory there and asked if we had gotten the book. We hand it over and he takes it after putting gloves on. Making us wonder if he knows more about the book then letting us know at first. He plays it off as just handling things with care. After going back to Spratz for an ele lunch and Tory not having another job for us and seems surprised like everyone else that the Goblins have made it down this far.  The party decides to head back out to track the Goblins.

On the way back out to keep the party run into another cart.  This one has seen the graves that the party had made from the corpses that they had found and chalk it up to the Goblins the party mentioned.  Once getting to the keep the ragers pick up the path and tracker for several hours then lose it. The party continues north and the figures they must have headed West at some point. So after heading that direction they do pick up the tracks again and follow them back to a cave north after visiting a small hamlet just off the trail.  Once close the the hills the tracks appear that wolves picked up the Goblins and headed into the cave. Upon entering the cave we came in contact with a large wolf. On attacking it there appeared with Golins on their back. This lead to a substanuall battle with about a dozen more Goblins joining in on foot. Vlax goes down fighting the last wolf.  Hugh bring Vlax backup and then goes down himself even after drinking a healing potion. Then Vlax goes down as well. But luckily even after Arthur and Spec had taken substantial damage they were able to kill the remaining Goblins and the last wolf. They were able to bring Hugh and Vlax back by casting cure light wounds on them. They hold up in the now clear cave for the night.

 

COD = Spec for a sturdy attack against the Goblins.
