It is about an hour till day break. It looks like the mist is receding. The question is if the door is closed already or will it be closed before the mist goes away. Talin, Pete, and Tetranac head up the side of the incline to get a better view of the door and towers. Othello calls his hippogriff and flies up over the mist and does a fly by of the tower, above the door. He hears that some rumbling like things are retreating through the door that is covered in the mist. He make a sharp turn to fly perpendicular to the door. Othello directs his flight to come in close to, but above the descending mist. His hippogriff hesitates before realizing that he did not want to go into the mist. As Othello flew by the spot he thinks the door is, he unleashes a lightning bolt from his wand. It seems to have hit the ground, wall, or door. But caused enough damage or irritated them enough that he hear a yell and several tenders streek up with one hitting the hippogriff. This causes the hippogriff’s soul to get pulled down and out of its body and then the body disappeared. This left Othello to blink to the top of the structure where the towers are based. Talin sees this and flies over and land in one of the towers. Tetranac starts finding his way down through the rocks to the building. Pete heads back to the wagon were Gubikla is. Bone starts walking from the wagon to the front door. It starts snowing pretty heavy. Othello and Talin investigate two of the towers and find they have monts for some type of device. But they both have huge horns in them. The decide to both sound them at the same time. Talin activates his a little longer then the Othello can. Tetranac starts levitating up the side of the building but the wind starts to push him back once he gets above the base. Talin slides down the pole to the base and manages to toss Tetranac a rope to pull him over. Othello searches the base of his tower and a couple of other places but finds nothing.

By this time the snow is about ankle deep and Bone is making his way over, pulls his flaming sword out to shield his head from the falling snow. Talin can barely see Bone through the snow fall. Talin sees something odd in the falling snow and tries to point it out to Othello but he can’t see anything in the snow. But Bone must have seen something as he approached as he entered into a battle stance and is approaching with more caution. Othello shot blindly at the location that Talin was pointing at. Just as Bone got within striking distance a huge spider like creature appears in front of him, and another one appears bind him. He engages with the one in front. Othello can now see the creature so he starts shooting at it as well. Tetranac starts shooting at the one behind Bone. Talin jumps off the building and starts flying just before he hits the ground toward the one in back. Pete and Gubikla get Hammish to bring the wagon around toward the door, though it will take a while for them to get over to the battle. Bone is slicing at the spider thing, when it manages to bite Bone and inject him with some vinim. But Bone just shrugs it off, like he could push the poison out of his wound by flexing his pectoral muscle. Talin manages to reach the creature and slam his axe into the ground causing a thunderous blast of rocks to encompass both creatures and Bone. The nearest one then turn around and attacked and it managed to grab him with both hits and it tried to pull him apart. This almost destroyed his armor and massive amounts of damage. He took out his revenge by doing two more slam attacks. But it did manage to get a bite on him after the fact that caused him to lose a constitutional point. With Othello taking shots at the beast and Bone slicing chunks out of it the first one collapsed and disintegrated as it fell to the grown. The two of them turned to help out Talin and Tetranac take out the other one. By this time Pete and Gubilka had joined the fight. With now the whole party concentrating on the last one it did not last long.

Now that the battle was over the party find that they can’t approach the urns. After some investigation Pete find that the ground is radiating magic as well. Bone tries to throw a rope around the urn and pull the urn away. But the rope started smoking and it ended up breaking before the urn could be moved. Othello digs through his pack and pulls out a silver plated chain. This allows the party to pull the urn out enough to get away from some of the magic feld that prevent Othello and Bone from getting close. But the chain is now deformed. Bone managed to pick up the urn that was pulled away and put it in the wagon. But because Hammish could not get close enough to drive the cart. This meant that Bone had to drive the wagon. Pete complaining that he had no more spell he could cast convinced Talin to create a sled with his shield so that he could rest on the way back. This worked for the first four hours due to the snow fall. But the farther away the party got the less snow was on the ground. Till they had to stop and let Pete rest another four hours. So Tetranac to this opportunity to meditate so that he could recover the spells he used. Bone did a short rest and stayed at the wagon to protect the urn. Othello headed back up the road to watch out for anyone pursuing them. All was quiet till somehow a dragon flew in from the side and snached the urn before it was detected and flew away.

At this point the party was dejected. Bone wanted to go back to the door and get the urn again. But with Pete and Gubilka wanting to get back to town to level up and Othello wondering if there was a way to pull another urn away with the damaged equipment, it was decided to go on to town. When the party gets close to Mineeport. They come across a scouting / horse guard. The first did not believe Talin that the party was coming from Deephold. This pissed off the already frustrated dwarf. So Talin left them standing there and walked on toward Mineport. Bone confirms that the party is coming back from Deephold. The guards tell them they should go see the sheriff as no one as returned from Deephold and he would like to know what we had found out.

Talin makes it to his temple of Dumathoin. Where he walks straight into see the priest and wakes him up and tells him to fix his constitution.
COD = Bond for walking straight up to the door.

Pete – Dragonborn: Cleric (lvl 9) Gubikla – Gnome: Wizard (lvl 9) Tetranac – Drow: Ranger (lvl 8) Talin – Dwarf: Fighter (lvl 9) Othello – Gnome: Thief (lvl 10) Bone – Human: Fighter (lvl 10) Is Cloverdung masquerading around as a drow in Highvial?
