The group headed out first thing in the morning after an uneventful night. They headed back to the camp taking up most of the day. They waved down the look out guards to make sure they knew that we are friendlies coming back. We gave the captain an update as he could see us bring parts of the cat beast that was killed. The parry heads over to the sacred hill. There was some discussion on how to get Dexter attention without violating his will on going on the hill. Lucky he came down as the group approached. They find out that he did see the message Varis set out and came down to confirm the creatures demise. After confirming verbally and taking the head. He split it open and pulled out a gem the depths of the brain. After getting some questions answered about the battle he let us know that the preparations was almost complete but it will be the next morning before the fort was ready. The party settle down for the night.

At some point in the night people were awoken with a scream. The members of the party were scattered throughout the camp so they were awoken at different times and took longer to determine the source of the scream. Once tracked down it was discovered that the scream came from a watch guard that was getting attacked by a giant six legged beetle. While attacking this beatle other ones showed up and started attacking the party as well. When the beetles were not actively attacking they seem to start buzzing. It was later learned that they would build up and release a sonic blast damaging those around them. The were fairly tough creatures but eventually fell to the attacks of the party. They did notice that gems would fall out of them on their death and start crawling or rolling away. The party managed to capture a couple but on inspection one got away. If touched it would seem like it was trying to take over the person touching it. Luckily no one succumbed to its will.

One the battle was over the group went back to sleep and soon after breakfast then next morning there was a large rumble and the trees on the hill grew creating a wall around the hill with no entrance. There was also a large tree in the center of the hill that was not there before. The camp gathered around wondering how people were supposed to enter this tree fort. When the trees bent out creating an opening and Dexter stepped out with a Dryad. Dexter announced that he needed someone that would become the fort caretaker and that person would have to be bound to the dryad. After some murmuring and Bolof volitering a young man that seemed barely out of puberty. It was decided that a slightly elderly man would be the guardian. He and the dryad went into the fort.

The party did get to update Dexter on the beetle attacks and what they found with the gems. He said they were demon gems and to be careful with them if we did not destroy them.
