Did Cloverdung find the Dwarf miners sexy or threatening as they reminded him of his mom!

Did Kavis blab and that brought the Dwarven miners to town?

Back in Wyntbridge the party scatters to sell, Identify, and  commission new and upgrade some magical equipment.  Othello checks in on his property.  Hammar checks in on his temple construction.  He also determined that the scout he sent earlier to the bear pool is not going to come back, So he hires a better scout to go and check it out.  Talin runs into three Dwarves from the south that claim to be miners but are armed to the teeth.  So what are they really in town for?  Bone summons the three Dwarves but leaves town shortly after so he changes the summons to have them meet us in Highvail.  He does hear back from the ‘real’ scouts that he sent to Highvail.  The advanced ‘cannon fodder’ group almost made it there before they were found dead with arrow wounds.  The Scouts made it to Highvail but the town was acting weird kinda of like everyone was paranoid of something.  But they did not see or hear of any disturbance.  Gubikla helps Hammar supposedly recharge his pot of lighting, by casing a lighting bolt into it.   Gubikla, as the rest of the part,  was disappointed the pot absorbed it instead of lighting up Hammar’s head.

Tetranac went out into the forest looking for and collecting mushrooms.  He got kind of tunnel vision as he missed that he ended up fairly deep into the forest and got surprised by a moma Owlbear and her baby.  It got the jump on the Drow and managed to grapple him and peck at him pretty good before he was able to faint death and then levitate and use his cloak of invisibility to evade them till they left and then ran back to town.

The party deside to head toward Highvail to try to get a better idea of what is going on.  Talin and Othello are kinda of hoping we can go kill or at least collect some Dragon blood on the way.  Well may be a small detour west of the way to Highvail.  Hammar hires a large wagon but the driver insist on coming and getting paid extra.  Most of the party load up into the wagon and head out down the road.  Othello scouts around while flying on his Hippogriff.  He does notice that there are a few plumbs of smoke north, but just takes that to be a few random farmers.  A little ways farther at a rest stop the party notices the looks to be tracks of a number of horses that passed this way a few hours before. The party makes it to the Old Oak Inn, way stop, and get room and board.  Tetranac gets the cook to add a couple of the mushroom mushrooms he collected to the beet soup.  But the cook said that would not be any good so he created a mushroom and leek soup.  He came out with a “Wohla” soap and presented it to the Drow.  Tetranac did not seem to be impressed.  There are two other patrons that end of leaving early in the morning.  The Inn keeper claims tells us that they said they were from Highvail but it looked like they came from the north.  The party gets a good breakfast of eggs and bacon.  Talin is disappointed that that they ran out of the good beer so he has to drop down the the cheap stuff.

The party starts off again down the road toward Highvail.  Tetranac scouts ahead on foot about hundred feet ahead of the wagon.  Othello continues to fly in circles around the wagon a couple of mile out to scout around the party.  Not long after the party got started Othello spots more plums of smoke.  He goes a little closer to investigate and sees several groups of really large wagon that are circled up.  He does not see any animals that would have pulled the wagons.  He thinks he sees figures trying to hide under the wagons when he flys by.  He relates that information to the party and the party head north on foot investigate and let the wagoner head to the next rest stop and wait for the group.

COD = Hammar for paying extra for a wagon and being a good cleric and not killing the owner yet.
