Adventure 89 – Aegir’s Beer pool

Has Kavis made treks to the beer pool?

Hammar get another dream/vision about the beer pool from Aegir.  The part heads out south toward the where Hammar and Othello remember the pools location.  Hammar and Talin rented a couple of mules to haul some barrel and marble down to the pool.  About half-way there Othello hears some rumbling coming from the downwind.  He yells trap and scampers up a tree.  The rest of the party looks around and get ambushed by a group of Hyenadon. The party manages to defend against and defeat the Hyenadon even after the last one tried to run off.  After the battle Hammar recognizes where the party is and head down to the pool.  There the party finds the drunkard, Dog Killer, the Elf tracker, and two bears drunk taking a nap on the other side of the pool.  Talin on smelling the beer ran off head and is now swimming around in the bear pool.  Hammar arranges the marble blocks on the rock that the spring is flowing from and stone shapes them into the head Aegir with the bear now flowing from his mouth.  The party agrees that it must be divine as Hammar could not make something so magnificat on his own.  The party rest while Hammar cast Hollow ground.  On the second watch Pete and Bone sees three “witches” on brooms fly by toward Wyntbridge.  Pete sends Flossy a tell to warn the guards and keep a watch out for them.  In the morning he sends another tell to ask the status and everything seems ok.  The party then heads back after Hammar made the Elf and Human trackers acolytes.  

The party gets back to Wyntbridge without any trouble but sees in the sky a messages that states to give up the Gnome and there is a picture of a pointy hat.   The party ask around but can’t find anyone that saw the message getting made.  But one of the Otters comes and finds Karl Othello and let him know there is trouble in the north east.  In the process Hammar goes to Brombin and gets him to believe that Aegir has performed a miracle and heads off in the direction of the pool.  Hammer also gets the Priest of War and the Priestess from the the Lady of Mercy to agree and head to the pool to confirm the miracle.

The next morning the party heads out in the direction of the indicated trouble.  Othello rents the mules with some barrels in hopes to get more dragon blood as the Otter said there was a dragon as part of the trouble.  On the way up to the location the party stumbles across a Frost Giant pretending to be a tree. Upon the party staring at him he realizes he is not very stealthy and attack the party.  With his attacks directed at Talin.  Bone tries to talk to the giant but it does not look like he understands so he tries brute force.  The giant whistles and three Winter Wolves come out and attack the party.  Pete cast a spell to let Bone speak and understand giant.  After every attack Bone is telling the giant that we will let him live if he gives us some information.  The giant responds with a taunt or insult toward Bone.  He is also concentrating his attack against Bone now.  The Wolves are breathing frost across several party members.  Mightychondria impelled the blood spike into the back of the giant. Now blood is pouring out of the giant.  Othello having been knocked down by a wolf uses his Thunder stick to launch himself up 50’ into the air and land with his boot causing a shock wave hurting three party members, two wolves, and killing the mules.  Hammar fed up kills the wolf near Othello and then hit Othello up side the head with his hammer.   After several round the party manages to kill off the wolves and the giant.  The party cleans up and is stunned to hear Bone request a little time to rest and recoup some hit points back.
