Bone has gone into a deep slumber for the winter, so he is out of action for a while.
Kavis finally wiggles out of danger fromt he illegal casket of ale in his room to rent a rowboat and head downstream, to try and find his friends who have spent the night at the tower. Fortunatley, Kavis had enough forethought to purchase a water breathing potion before getting in his rented boat.
The other party members awakent he next day, at the tower, and begin again to search for an entrance. While searching the area, Kavis happens upon the party and joins them inside the walled tower. Gubikla casts a spider-man spell on Cloverdung so he can climb the tower to see what is further up. Cloverdung reaches the first landing and finds no doors or windows. He ties off a rope for the others to follow. Cloverdung then climbs to the next level, and again finds no entrance. Finally, Cloverdung makes it to the top of the tower where there is no door. He ties off another rope so the group can reach the top as well.
On the roof of the tower is a golden funnel, with a spiral desing in the roof. After several failed attempts to cause anything to happen (water through the funnel, blood, piss), Hammar takes out one of his small balls and tosses it itno the funnel. The ball grows large and crushes the funnel. So much for that experiment.
Cloverdung climbs down the tower and over the wall to start inspecting along the river bank for an entrance. Cloverdung drinks half of a water breathing potion, puts a dagger in his mouth and dives into the river. After the 100′ dive, Cloverdung finds himself at the bottom of the river, not able to breath water. Before ascending to the surface, Clvoerdung notices a large cave in the side of the riverbed, leading towards the tower.
Kavis drinks all of his water breathing potion and dives in to investigate the cave. Cloverdung drinks the rest of his potion, and then descned with Kavis (this time able to breath just fine under water).
The two follow the cave about 150ft before it surfaces in a dark cavern. Cloverdung swims back out to have his shoes and a coin illuminated with light by Hammar and Gubikla. Swimming back to the cavern and Kavis, Cloverdung tosses the lighted coin into the cavern. There is some illumination, but nothing to see. Listening, the two hear a snarling sound in the distance. Cloverdung takes off one of his lighted shoes and throws it further into the cavern. Suddenly, a large serpent appears on the edge of the light and sees the two adventurers.
Kavis prepares for battle with the large beast as Cloverdung dives back into the water to go get the others. The serpent charges in and attacks Kavis. Biting and clawing Kavis for some severe damage, Kavis fights back with some of his own damage on the beast.
Cloverdung breaks the surface of the water and scream to the others that Kavis needs help fighting a serpeant. Gubikla, Othello, and Hammar jump in and swim to the cavern. By the time the party joins Kavis, the serpent is attempting to attack again, but failing. Gubikla casts scorching ray and burns the beast, Hammar sacred flames it and Othello hits it with a bolt. Cloverdung gets in a couple of arrows before Kavis kills the serpent.
The party finds some serpeant eggs, huddled in a pile, and a stone-cut ledge leading to a man-made hallway. At the end of the hallway is a panel with some gemstones set in place. The gemstones move up and down with a little pressure. Othello finally finds the correct pattern and a clanking sound can be heard from the shaft above. Slowly, a cage lowers from the shaft. The group climbs in and Othello works the panel again. Now, the cage slowly ascends a tall shaft. As the cage reaches a couple of side passages, Othello moves the buttons on the panel and the cage stops.
The adventurers get out and head down one of the passages. They come to an opening of a large chamber, where there is a stone black cat statue of both side, and a large throne looking chair on the far wall. There is also a pedestal with a sphere mounted on the top, next to the chair. As Othello attempts to pry out one of the gemstones from a cat statue, poof, it suddenly comes to life. The cat attacks Othello for some moderate damage. The other cat statue also comes to life and attacks Hammar. Kavis and Hammar attack one cat while Othello, Gubikla, and Cloverdung attack the other. Gubikla entraps the cat with his web spell, as well as Othello. Clvoerdung and Gubikla are able to kill the cat before it breaks out of the webs. Kavis and Hammar kill their cat as well. Upon death, the cats burst into dust, leaving only their gemstone eyes on the floor. Those are retrieved quickly (Mine!).
Cloverdung goes and sits in the throne. Kavis investiagtes the globe on the pedestal. After peering into the stone long enough, Kavis suddenly sees a wizard on the other end point his wand at Kavis. After Kavis gives the wizard the finger, POW, a lightning bolt coms out of the globe and fizzles Kavis, throwing him back against the wall. Gubikla is intriged so he too stares into the stone. Shortly, he sees the wizard in the globe holding a wand. Gubikla tries to cast ray of frost at the wizard, but misses. Then, a lighning bolt flashes out of the globe and strikes Gubikla. Having seen enough, Hammar places the globe under wraps and takes it into his custody.
The group decides to investigate the other passageway, after healing their wounds. The group comes to a room that has water filling the lower portion, and a chest on a ledge in the middle of the water. Kavis swims out to the chest and opens it. Soon as he does, blades pop out of the sides of the chest and it begins to spin around. The blades gash Kavis, throwing him back into the water. Kavis, pissed, lights the chest on fire and smashes it with his axe. Nothing was in the chest.
The next room is funnel shaped, so Othello goes to investigate the plugged hole at the bottom of the funnel. Kavis is on a rope, next to Othello, just in case. Othello jumps up and down when suddenly, the plugged hole opens and Othello is caught by Kavis. Looking down, Othello sees large spikes at the bottom of a pit.
The final room on this side has the entrance covered by a curtain. Cloverdung shoots an arrow through the curtain, but nothing happens. Kavis goes rushin through the curtain and finds himself in a bedroom. There is a desk, bed, dresser, and a mirror on the wall. Nothing exciting is found, but Othello studies the mirror to find a passage behind it. Since there appears to be a magical auroa coming from the mirror, Gubikla cast Dispell Magic form a scroll, in case it was a trap. The door is opened and the group climbs into another room with three chests.
Kavis and Cloverdung find a chest full of clothes. Nice clothes. Cloverdung takes the long red silk gloves, three pairs of high heel shoes, and a small hand mirror. Gubikla and Hammar find some goodies in their chest. Othello also finds goodies in his chest. Hammar claims everything, but nobody listens.
The party decide to call it a night and rest up in this room.
