Adventure 45

Where is Cloverdung?  Did the flying suina check him by surprise?

The party headed out of town toward the quarry.  As the party get close they see a rampart surrounding the area of the quarry that had the crevasse that led to some passageways.  The party heads toward the gate and get stopped by some guards.  They ask our business.  Othello says we are here to see the boss and shows him his badge.  The guards quietly converse and one heads back into the camp towards the crevasse.   A little while later he comes back and tells the party sorry but the boss in not see anyone at this time.  Othello demands that they respect his authority and the badge, but claim that they are outside the city and Othello has no authority here.  They then close the gate on the party and tell us to be gone. Othello almost looses it here and attacks but the party is able to keep him calm and they head back on the road to town.  They notice someone keeping a eye on them as the leave the quarry.

The party decides to leave the road once out of site of the quarry and head cross country around to the back side of the quarry.  The party waits till dark and and then closes in on the top/back side of the quarry.  Othello scouts ahead and sees a couple of in a lone tree near the edge.  Othello shots one out of the tree.  The guard lands with a thump on the ground alerting the second one.  That guard start heading toward the edge with a third that was still hidden. At this point Othello realizes he can’t shoot both before the alarm goes out.  So he decides to use his thunder stick wand and it blast them off the side of the cliff and they fall down to their death and land on a tent.  This alerts the camp and as they start trying to figure out what is going on.  The party realizes that there are more guards up near them.  Gubikla blast them with a fire bolt and Hammar sets the tree on fire with a sacred flame. This kill the remaining guard posted at the top of the ridge.

The party sees several large tents that make up the camp in the quarry.  One of the tents is collapsed due to the falling guard lading on it.  The camp is coming to life in a disorganized fashion, trying to determine what kind of treat has come upon them.  A few have figured out that the treat is on the back ledge and start shooting at the party.  Hammar and Gubikla set the tents aflame and Othello blast one of the guard towers with lighting bolt.  Gubikla catches several guard that were running toward the crevasse with Evard’s Black Tentacles.  The party is able to climb down to the crevasse where Bone is able to kill the rest of the guards that where approaching.  The party ventures in to the crevasse to a familiar cavern.

COD is Othello for messing up the sneaking into the camp.
