Did the father of the ‘Hot and Ready’ twins find Cloverdung?
He did, and quickly offered Cloverdung 2000gp to “do” the twins.
Apparently Bone and Hammar were able to get one of the cylinders into Dave’s instant outhouse. Hopefully we can recover the coins and they won’t be caked with who knows what. That left one cylinder for the party to deal with. As the party is in need of rest anyway they bring it back to the Bugbear room and block the door closed with the cylinder and the party rest. Mightychondria and Othello keep watch. While the party rest Othello searches the room and finds no secretes. Now that the party has rested they move the cylinder over against the wall and Pete cast Stone Shape to encase the end of the cylinder in stone to prevent anyone from just walking off with it.
The party then go the closest secret door and opens it to find a hallway that leads to a fourway intersection. Too bad Cloverdung is not around he always liked fourways, but I am not sure if would like to have been spied on. The party sees another one of the eyes at the corner of the intersection. Othello climbs on Mighty shoulders and prys the eye off and no one seems to be able to catch it and it lands on the floor and shatters. The east passageway ends and no one can find a secret door. The west way has a secret door but the party can’t figure out how to open it. The south has a secret door and it opens up into a room that looked to have had some crates and barrels in it. From looking at the voids in the dust. But what is odd is there are no footprints. Pete thinks there are spiders that came in and move the stuff. Othello and Talin search the room and find a secret compartment that has a lever in it. Talin reaches in and pulls the lever. A trap door in the ceiling opens up and a ladder slides down into the room. Othello climbs the ladder and goes a short distance down a passageway heading south above the room. It leads to another secret trap door. This one does not have a ladder, but opens up storage room that holds what looks to be a brewing equipment. The party finds a couple of kegs of beer. Talin discovers and inscription on a barrel that says “Dunain’s Dew”. According to Talin this is a famous Dwarven beer that was lost long ago. The party tries some and it is indeed the best beer they have every had. Even Ager would be proud of this beer. Mighty another few mugs full while the party searches the rest of the room. Talin finds that one of the copper tubes sounds like it has something in it. He cut the section off and find that there is a dragon skin parchment of what looks to be the recipe and a vial of yeast. The party leaves the room and cleans up dust in the room so no one could tell there was a trap door.
They head to the large North-South hallway and Othello goes to look for the secret door the wizard escaped through. When Talin stubbles through it just north of where Othello thought it was. Talin starts cursing that some idiot ruined this great Dwarven hallway by make a poorly crafted secret door and hallway that it lead to. The party investigate this small octangular room that has eight pointed star in the floor made up of two squares. Pete determines that the draconic script says something about point two and teleport. He tries to activate it but has no luck. At this point Talin and Othello start searching the east wall of the large hallway and head south. The hallway ends in a rounded dome. At the apex of the dome the party finds another eye. This time Bone jumps up and grabs the eye and it breaks off its support. He hands the eye to Othello and it is still active. Othello holds it up at Talin. Talin moons the eye and Pete cast dispel magic on the eye so the last thing it saw was Talin’s butt. Othello and Talin continue searching the hallway and start back up the west wall.
Othello finds a secret door and Talin opens it. This one leads to a storage room full of boxes and crates. Othello steps in and is almost hit by a large anvil that falls from the ceiling. The party thinks they have hit it rich, until they find that all the crates are empty. The party start clearing the room of boxes to confirm and throwing them out in the hallway. Bone sets them on fire with his sword and Othello uses his large smokeless ring to capture all the smoke. Once the room is clear Talin and Othello search and find a secret door. Othello opens the door and two bolts shoot out. Othello is able to dodge them but Talin is hit with one and the bolt had ignited so Talin is now on fire. We are able to put the flames out and find a double crossbow was tied to a nice plush chair that has a print of a dragon on it. Behind the chair is a rug. Talin uses his axe to pull the rug and finds that it was hiding a pit that had make shift wooden spike at the bottom. Othello searches the chair and finds a secret compartment in one of the legs but is disappointed that it was empty. Pete shocks everyone by kicking the chair into the pit. Othello and Talin again search and find a secret door. This one opens up to a room catty corner to the current room. The party finds a old man that has taken refuge in the room. Bone shows the old man his sheriff badge and convince him the we are there to clear it out for the owner and rescue any survivors. The old man apparently has been there a week. He was a quarry worker but had been kidnapped. He had escaped and luckily found this place to hold up in. He has kill a few for the inhabitants and collect some loot. The party gives him some food and water and tells him once we clear the place out will be back for him. Talin and Othello finish search the west wall of the large hallway back to the intersection.
Bone is bored and headed to the intersection to wait for the Dwarf and Gnome to make it to him. As soon as the party is back together Bone and Pete see swirling of dust like invisible feet kicking up the dust in the hallway. They are coming toward the party and pick up speed once they see the party. Bone, Mighty, and Talin rush in to meet these invisible creatures. Talin gets hit a couple of times and one of the blow must have hit a vital spot because Talin retreats back behind the cleric. The party is doing it’s best to take out these Invisible Stalkers. Talin once healed drinks a potion that lets him move twice the distance and make extra actions. Othello pulls out a bottle and pulls the stopper cork. A liquid darkness starts pouring out of the bottle. The party know these Invisible Stalkers are relatively large creatures and seeing the blackness swirl around where there feet are moving now can determine where these creatures are and this helps Mighty out tremendously as he crushes the one in front of him with his scythe. Mighty moves around behind one and tries to start a game of catch with Pete using his scythe as a makeshift ball. Luckly Bone, Talin, and Othello are able to dodge the scythe as Might slings it at Pete. Pete was not ready for the scythe but after it lands on the floor after hitting him tosses it back to Mighty. The party is able to finish off the Invisible Stalkers. Talin is now happy as there was a nice “level up” ding that occurred for him after the battle.
