Adventure 94 – Siege of Wyntbridge – Death of the Giant front.

Talin – Dwarf: Fighter (lvl 10)

Hammar – Dwarf: Clieric (lvl 10)

The party heads toward town and run across a four armed ape and a couple of winter wolfs.  The party manages to sneak up behind one of the wolves and attack.  The party badly damages the wolf.  Talin scares it off, but Othello manages to kill it before it gets away. The ape is a little harder but goes down with everyone concentrating on it.  The other wolf rushed it by was caught by the magical gauntlets that Talin set.  It was held, grappled and went down quick after the ape die.

The party heads on toward Wyntbridge and come in site of the town with fourteen frost giants assaulting it.  Two of which are riding.  Tetranac notices a dark glob near the wagons.  Based on this the party comes up with a plan of Othello and Tetranac sneak around and throw some acid bombs in it, as the wizards would most likely be  hidden there.  The others would attack from the north downwind of giants. With Hammar summoning a Roc for support.

The Roc causes a commotion and the wagons take off.  Othello notices one veir around the black globe.  Tetranac throws his acid bomb at the globe and the acid cloud rolls off around the globe.  Othello goes in and uses a magical orb to causes the ground to turn to mud on one side of it.  He rushes in and digs a little to confirm that it was really a impenetrable orb the went into the ground.  It was but ended up vanishing, leaving two giants.  One with plate armour and one with a staff.  The fighter swung and hit Othello and was paralyzed by some type of aura.  Bone and Talin rushed in to take on the giant army.  With Othello out of commission the fighter turned toward Bone.  The wizard attacked Tetranac and Tetranac end up paralyzed as well.  The Roc had pick up a giant and the beast it was riding and tossed them to the ground.  It then circled around and picked up the wizard and drops it on a tree.  The giant wizard gets up and pulls the tree out of himself.  Talin manages to kill another one of the lesser giants while Bone takes on the boss.  Pete gets off a healing spell for those near him.  Othello finally manages to bring himself out of the trans that allowing himself to move again.  Tetranac is also able to recover a round later.  Hammar banishes the Wizard which bring the attention of the boss giant that shifts his attack to Hammar instead of Bone.  On the second attack he manages to break Hammar’s concentration bringing the wizard back.  The Roc then drops a giant it had on the wizard.  Tetranac and Othello shoot and strike the wizard.  The wizard knowing it was going to die snaps the staff it had and causes a massive explosion.  Killing a couple of lesser giants, the Roc, and Tetranac.  The boss giant kills Bone and turns to take out Talin.  Hammar cast Aid to bring Bone back to life and give a little health to Talin and Pete.  Pete pulls out a whistle and blows it.  The lesser giants and Hammar stand at attention.  Bone was at attention while on the ground looked a little odd.  Talin takes out the last couple lesser giants while they stand at attention.  Tetranac stabilizes himself and becomes conscious.  The Boss giant seeing that all his comrades are down runs away.  Hammar grabs Petes whistle and flys after the giant blowing trying to get the boss to stop.  Othello follows by blinking but the group can’t slow down the giant and he eventually gets away.  Now that the north eastern front has been broken what is the next step in saving the city?

COD = The Roc for making it more of a even fight for the party.  Hammar get a honorable mention for summoning the Roc and banishing the wizard even if it was just a short time.
