Adventure 95 – Siege of Wyntbridge – 10 Remorhaz , 4 Witches, 1 bridge.

Has Cloverdung lost his vengeance for swine?

The party talks to the city guard.  They send all but four for the guard to other location.  They leave the weapons and provisions at the gate.  There are several fires around the northern district.  The party heads to the temple district.  The party run into a group of Remorhaz. Two mendium size ones attack Mightychondria.  Several smaller ones attack Tetranac and Talin.  Tetranac levitated up to a safe distance and started shooting. Talin got surrounded but that just meant where he wanted them.  Hammar moved up and smashed one abut then realized that the heated internals still did damage so he move back.  Othello was picking off shots the help out Mitochondria.  Mightychondria kills one of the medium size ones and then pulls back.  Bone moves in to take on the ones attacking Tetranac and now were attacking Othello.  One cries out and draws a large one in.  It goes in and swallows Pete and then Gubikla.  The party finishes of the other medium one and concentrates on the large one while Talin finished off the smaller ones near him.  Gublikla pops that sphere inside the Remorhaz and when the monster died the sphere pops out.  Pete ends up crawling out the mount.  

The party makes it to the temple district and and find carts of wounded people being brought it for healing.  The party finds Brombin and talks to him about the situation and if there is any help he can give the party.  He ends up healing Mightychondria and giving two scrolls.  One to Pete and one to Hammar.  He tells of a boat full of wizards at the western gate.  He also talks about a few witches flying over head.  The party head south to the bridge and halfway across calls for the witches.  Saying they have the hat.  With Gubikla casting an illusion of a the famous hat on Pete.

With the party spread out across the bridge trying to avoid an area attack. Waiting for the witches to cast Bless the party thinks they are set when four witches appear over the bridge on brooms.  Each of them use a want to cast a fireball.  The four fireballs cover the bridge with some party members getting caught by overlap of two fireballs.  The party was obviously caught by surprise but bounce back rather quickly with Tetranac firing a web arrow against one, wrapping it up causing them to lose control.  Talin and Mightychondria shoot there black bow of doom.  Gubikla unlesses one of his few spells that he has left.  Pete absorbed the fireball damage. His eyes start to glow and and started to float toward the nearest witch.  The one near Othello shoots a disintegrate at  Bone.  Bone manages to avoid the ray but it  causes part of the bridge to disappear dropping Bone into the river.  Othello hits the one near him with a bolt.  Teleports to the bolt and manages to hold onto the witch as they go into a steep climb.  The witch falls off and Othello grabs the amulet the the the disintegrate came out of and pushes the witch down and lands on her.  Creating another hole in the bridge and dumping Othello in the river.  Tetranac shoots an exploding arrow at one near Hammar.  Pete manages to grabs the wand of the one he was near firing a fireball off.causing the witch to fall into the river and the smoking broom landed near the edge of the river a little down stream.  Talin runs and jumps taking out one of the witches near the edge of the bridge dragging them into the river and walks them out.  Mightychondria, Tetranac, and Gublikla kill the other witch.  Pete dives in the river and ties a rope around the burn witch and drags them out.  

The party members that took a dunk in the river make it back to the shore and gather up what items they can recover from the witches.  Now all that is remaining is the boat full of wizards.  

COD = Othello for teleporting onto a witches broom.  Tetranac get a honorable mention for shooting a web entangling one of the witches.
