Adventure 103 – Vorticinal Network – Dragon!

Is Cloverdung locked in the chest the Dragon is guarding?

Will we find Kavis’s remains in the Dragon layer?

The last lava golem returns from banishment.  The party is ready for them but it take a lot longer to bring it down due to lava pits opening up and healing the golem.  It also rained down lava from the ceiling.   But after the finally killing the golem.  The party found another orb hanging from the ceiling.  They destroyed it.  The party than healed up while Gubikla sent a invisible eye out to scout.  Othello unknowingly followed the eye at first.  They found that the area where the golems were was a dead end with two alcoves near the front.  The eye circled around to the passageway to the south and it lead to a chamber opening up to the east with a huge chest on a circular landing surrounded by lava.  There are two large parallel hallways that lead off east.  These lead to a gargantuan chamber where the eye winked out.  Meanwhile Othello searches the lava golem chamber and finds a secret door in the alcove pointing south.  This secret door was a huge door and it took three of the party to push it open.  This of course is when the decide to check the room outside for orbs and find one. After destroying the orb they found that the hallway lead to a large but relatively short hallway that connected by another secret door to the chest chamber.  This is where the party decides to rest.  Gubikla puts a arcan lock on the south door leading to the chest chamber and put an alarm on the north door with a hound guardian.  He then pops the hut in the middle of the hallway were the casters rest.  Othello and Talin take the first hour while Bone does a short rest.  Then Bone and Talin take the watch the second hour while Othello takes a short rest.  Finally Bone and Othello take watch the third hour while Talin did a short rest.  At that point Tetranac finished his rest and joined keeping watch.  About the fifth or sixth hour a couple of them detect a disturbance in the air like someone is scrying.  It moves across the hallway and stopes over the hutt.  Tetranac as glob of darkness on it.  When it fades the scrying is no longer there.  

The party finishes resting and Gubikla scary outside the hallway and it seems clear on both sides.  The party opens the south door and go into the chamber.  Othello and Tetranac head over to the chest and detect that there is magic radiating from the chest.  Talin, Long axe, and Icemain head down the hallway heading to the gargantuan chamber.  Mightychondria head s the south hallway.  The rest head between the two hallways.  This is when the Dragon made it presents known.  It breathed down the north hallway catching four or five party members in the blast.  The blast turned Long axe and Icemain to dust.  Talin and Bone go into attack.  Othello teleports onto the back of the dragon but does not manage to grapple a hold and gets knocked off.  The Dragon bits and claws at Talin but only manages to connect on one. Gubikla found that magic missile seem to be absorbed by something the dragon is wearing.   Gubikla manages to cast a lighting bolt at it.  Hammar calls upon his god for aid and receives a frosty ice beer lance and it is on his bear.  He charges and hits the Dragon.  The dragon does another smaller breath that kills the bear and singes a few others.  It then snaps his tail and hits Othello blowing him back.  It then vanishes.  The party cautiously heads into the gargantuan chamber but not find the dragon.  Someone spots what looks to be a cavern that leads to a opening very high up to the south.  There is a hallway that has a slight glow like lava to the north and what appears to be a crevasse to the east side of the chamber with what is assumed to be the glow of reflective lava shining up.  The party cautiously try to start investigating the room.  They find the ceiling is nowhere in site after shooting a lighted bolt up.   

Tetranac mean while found that there are three orbs around the chest and has managed to shoot down one.  He was heading over to shoot down the second one.
