Adventure 105 – Vorticinal Network – Immortal Dragon!

Did Cloverdung get kinky and created a gold plated dragon?

Has Kavis lost his mind to the dragon?

The dragon’s soul was in the shield and thought it was dead.  We were so wrong! The party fought off and killed the guardian, a elder fire elemental.  But while this was happening the dragons body was raised up on a dias like the other dragon shaped body.  A oval around the dragon raised up about ten feet into the air. It created a moat like gap around it. The body was near the northern passageway that was filled with lava.  This caused the lava to start flowing out and around the new raised island. Gold dust started falling out of the air and covering the dragon. Gubikla summoned a air elemental to blow the dust away.  He also cast cone of cold at the lava entrance to try to stop the flow. It worked but just for a couple of rounds. He burned another cold spell but that only slowed it down as well. The air elemental managed to keep the gold dust of part of the dragons tail before the gold dust stopped falling.  It then moved over to try to cool the hot spot in the lava crust but failed when the pressure exploded and covered the air elemental in lava. The dragon’s soul escaped the shield and went back to the now gold covered body. It spoke and said “It worked, I am now immortal”

Apon killing the guardian and not seeing the dragon where it died.  The guardian did not change the state of the other dragon as far as we could tell.  The lava was pouring into the cavern threatening to incase the part where they had been fighting the guardian.  Othello and Tetranac were headed back to the huge chest. Gubikla cast arcane gate that allowed the other party members to make it most of the way.  Othello had climbed the wall and waited above the passageway to collapse it. He had just given up and dropped when a fire breath blast came as he was in mid drop.  He managed to collapse the tunnel and roll backwards out of the way. The group was around the chest and Talin used his throwing axe to cut the chains that had the chest bound to the ground.  Gubikla cast knock a couple more time to unlock the three magical locks. When Talin opened the chest he felt something leave and now found the chest empty. Did we just release the other dragon’s soul?  

COD = Othello for collapsing the tunnel just as the dragon was diving in breathing fire.
