Adventure 120 – The assault on the Citadel, Continues.

Hammar, Othello, and Gubikla find the secret door leads to a room with a chest, a couple of barrels, a couple of large cross bows, and a rug in the middle between them.  The rug truns out to bless anyone that stands on it. The barrels seem to have oil in them. The chest has a very nice healing kit as well as some vials.  Othello also finds a hidden hatch that looks down on the stairs going down to the depths of the citadel. The group head out to the throne room. The are able to open the east door to the armoury and get attacked from the opposite side of the throne room.  It so happened the urd constructed a barricade in the hallway to the staircase and are now shooting bots at the party.

Hammar charges forward as well as Tetranac.  Othello teleports himself the entrance hallway. Gubikla hids in the armoury and cast wall of fire up the barricaded hallway.  After seeing the urds retreating he heads to the secret hatch overlooking the stairs down to see if he can’t get a shot off. Hammar charges through the barricade and take out a few with Tetranac’s help shooting them as they retreat.  Bone and Talin hearing the calls for battle comes down the stairs to help catching a few urd in the crossfire. There are a few urds that make it into a few rooms off the main hallway or down the stairs past Othello shots from the hatch.  One of the room was filled with magical darkness but was disrupted when Gubikla rolled a sphere of fire into the room and messed up the concentration of the urd witch doctor. This lead to the slaughter of the urds in sight by Bone, Talin, and Hammar.

After clearing the rooms the charge up the stairs.  Bone heading up the stairs passes Talin after telling him there was some uncleared rooms on the second floor.  Talin headed down that hallway as Bone kept going up the stairs and tell Talin “sike”. After Talin heads backup the stairs after Bone with Hammar following the group find themselves facing a barrel that has been punctured and rolling down the stairs spewing oil everywhere.  Bone is able to jump over the barrel in time for him to see a urd tosses a lit torch and retreat. Hammar was not so lucky and gets run over by the barrel. Talin plants his shield and lets the barrel roll and bounce over him. But they are now caught in flames as the oil is lit by the torch.  They are able to kill the urds left and continue there way up. Finding a open floor with a busted out wall. In the middle are two snow wyverns of some kind. Bone and Talin rush in and attack with Hammar a few steps behind as he is not really in the most fit shape after drinking all that holy beer of his.   They manage to kill one and seriously wound the other before they can fly out the broken wall. Talin rather pissed that he was not able to finish off both of the wyverns takes out the urd that shot some explosive device at the group. This takes out part of the wall on the other side and part of the floor with a earth reaver.  Hammar who arrived a little late for the main fight kills a urd that was trying to sneak his way around the wall.

Tetranac, Gubikla and Othello head down the stairs and find a heavy metal reinforced door.  Othello picks the lock and climbs above it hidden. This was so he could open the door from above without being shot at once the door was open.  Unfortunately he did not see Tetranac sneaking down the stairs. Tetranac opens the door and finds two bottles on strings swing down through the open door and hit him.  As the bottles break the burst out in flame. Othello then teleports his way behind the urd hiding behind a turned over table. He is able to shoot one in the head at point blank range and starts to dance as Gubikla uses a frostbolt to take out the other one.  Tetranac puts himself out and find another door on the back side of the room barricaded from the other side. Desididing that the member of the party are not of the muscle variety summons a bear to beat down the door. Gubikla helps out by enlarging the bear. Once the door burst open they see a long room with columns.  Urd are hiding behind the columns and takes out the bear as it advances now with a lighted butt as Gubikla needed some light to brighten the room. Othello sneaks in and takes out a couple of urds using stealth. Tetranca cast wind wall to protect himself from the bolts but misses the one that is hiding close to him and takes a spear to the back.  He manages to kill this one and Gubikla cast fireball that clears out the rest.
