Adventure 121 – Unexpected Dragon riders.

alin – Dwarf: Fighter (lvl 12) + Cleric (lvl 2)

Gubikla – Gnome: Wizard (lvl 14)
Hammar – Dwarf: Cleric (lvl 12)
Tetranac – Drow: Ranger (lvl 11)

Bone, Hammar, and Talin head down to clear out the mid floor after killing or driving off the Wyverns from the top floor.  They find the Urds barricaded in the room trying to take shots without leaving the safety of their hiding places. This of course did not work as the three moved in and cleaved through the furniture they were hiding behind or using it as weapons against them.

Gubikla, Tetranac, and Othello managed to open the barred door and head down the stairs on the other side.  This lead to larger room that was filled with tables and benches. To be either a dinning hall or a meeting room.  The roof was vaulted and had beams set across for support. It appears that the Urds have hidden themselves throughout the room.  Othello was able to sneak up the wall and started taking pot shots at the one he spotted. Tetrance was not so lucky. He was able to take out a few from afar but a couple were able to sneak up on him and were able to bury some bolts in his back knocking him unconscious.  Gubikla was doing good until he forgot to re-invis one round and got swarmed. Othello seeing this runs and leaps and blast everyone with the shock wave of his Boots of Reverberation.  He is able to save Gubikla with a healing potion.  Gubikla upon awakening cast color spray. This melted, poisoned, or frightened the Urds into a retreat allow Othello to save Tetranace with another potion of healing.  Finding barrack rooms off the dinning hall they make to the back of the room where two bronze doors reside. One was barricaded from the other side. The other lead to the kitchen where Urds were hiding in pots and cauldrons.  It was lite on fire and some benches thrown in after Gubikla cast weird in the room.

From there the party gathered up and headed toward the pass and word from the captain that Hammar had gotten from a sending.  The party made it to the middle of the bridge across the lake. Noticing that the lake is pretty frozen and has some snow built up across it.  This is when the party sees a large wing creature flying toward them with four other smaller creature with it. Gubikla was able to teleport the party to the end of the bridge but not before the dragon attacked tithe a frost breath.  

At the end of the bridge the party took up position to fight.  Gubikla cast invis on himself and hide behind the edge of the bridge.  Othello and Tetranac took off to one side. Bone was in the middle and Hammar and Talin were just off him.  The dragon came down and picked up Bone, while the four Wyverns did a flying attack with their tails and then circled around and engaged the party on the ground.  After taking Bone up several hundred feet it flung him up higher and then circled around to attack the party that was left on the ground. Gubikla was unleashing fireballs at the wyvern attacking him.  With Talin using some gems from his crown to help out. Hammar and Tetranac took out the one closest to them. While Othello sneak attacked the last one. After a couple of rounds the party managed to take out the Wyverns.   Seeing this the Dragon thought to retreat. But was not expecting Bone to do a flying man to missle his way back toward the dragon after it has came back and did a flyby attack on the party. About the same time Gubikla cast dimension door and brings Talin with him to the back of the Dragon.  Gubikla being hasted was able to cast web to hold them in place. That is when Bone speared the Dragon by flying his fall into the side of the Dragon. The Dragon starting to think they might be in a little more trouble than they initially thought does a corkscrew spin fling the party members in all directions.  Bone use feather fall to get back to the ground safely. Gubikla used telekinesis to help break his fall. While Talin managed to land face first and then bounce.

COD = Bone for making the Dragon’s attack into a deadly ramming attack of his own.
