The battle with the mastodons and kobols left the party evenmore run down. Even though it is just a hour or so till dawn the party decides it is best to head south off the road to rest. This will hopefully be off the beaten path enough to reduce any more encounters. Tetranac finds some trees and Talin finds some turned over wagons near some rocks. The group discusses the two and ends up heading toward the rocks. Hammar, Gubikla, and Bone make their beds under the wagon that lost the wheels on one side so it acts like a lean-to against the wind. Talin takes shelter behind the large rock or boulder. Othello makes a igloo style shelter on the other side of the boulder and Tetranac meditates on the back side of the turned over wagon.
Othello keeps watch for the first three hours before falling asleep. He did spot some wyvers or similar flying creatures off in the distance during the first hour. After falling asleep he is awakened by an barbed arrow held next his his cheek. It happened to be a group of Elves Commandos called the windwalkers that were on a mission from Boris. Othello had to convince the group that they were here trying to clear the town enough for the advancing party to retake Highvail and the Drow was really on our side. They told us the great Dragon was at the center and the code word was latno. After the short discution the vanished into the wilderness. Othello went and told Tetranac after he finished meditating and then went back to bed.
Tetranac takes the second watch and sees some humanoids approaching. He manages to awaken Bone and they take out the white Dragonborn with the help of the the rest of the party due to them breathing on Hammar and Gubikla waking them up. After they fell back to sleep a couple of wyverns found the camp but were quickly decapitated by Bone who was in no mood to extend the fight. But not before Tetranac got stung and poisoned by one of them.
The party gets up and heads toward the pass. Othello and Tetranac sneak off along the side while Gubikla summons and huge earth elemental and sends it in to tare the gate off its hinges. Othello sneaks up the wall and kills the kobold on the end of the wall. He sees that they are sending out a rapid fire ballista on some type of extendable rotating platform. His tends to shake the kobold off the gun seat so the have to reload an kobold and the bolts when they bring it back in. Tetranac is holding back and shooting down the line of kobolds as they peek out from around the paripips. Talin his holding back protecting Tetranac and Hammar. While Bone advances and ducks under the gate that the elemental has pulled out except the top hing. With Gubikla casting fireballs and Othello shooting a lighting bolt. The other were able to clear out most of the remaining kobols and advance to the inner gate. Othello seeing the last of the kobolds on his side of the wall slip down a hatch, follows them and seeing them pouring a oily like substance down upon the party in the middle of the walled gate. Decides to teleport and use his boots to disrupt the plans of the kolbods before they can light the oil. Unfortunately he did not see the two with torches so when he hit it knocked back and kill the kobolds but the torches now lite the oil that has been scattered into the air. Causing a large fireball of his own. This busted down the inner gate to the inner courtyard. This did at least allow the party to make it into the courtyard before they were expecting them.
COD = Othell of make a fireball when he was not intending to..
