Now that the pass is for the most part clear the party does a quick search of the area. This results in a few coins and trinkets. Like human comes. Why do Kobolds have comes? To pick their teeth of course. They also had a few decent sets of dice. But oddly enough the party did not find many human weapons. After opening the front gate and portuclips and finding no army standing outside. The party scanned for enemies and finding none and no friendly army either. Decided to head up to northern makeshift tower. One of the ones on either side of the pass that were seen emitting purple smoke earlier. They found several wrapped packages that look to be seaweed and a Draconic symbol on each. Othello lite up the one with a ‘Y’ and a yellowish green smoke started coming off of it. The party looked around from now a higher point and saw glimpses of light reflecting off of most likely armour or weapons from a army that was slowly heading our directions. They seemed to be at least a couple of hours away. They also saw some smoke from the manar but it was hard to tell if it was chimney smoke or if it was remanence of it being burnt down. After Tetranac did another Primal Awareness the party decides to head back to Highvail and not wait for the amy to get to the pass.
The party makes it all the way back and across the bridge before running into a wagon barricade at the end of the bridge. This was held by a group of Tieflings. Several of them had wands and were shooting magic missles at the party. This was of course after Talin announced that this was the Sharif of Wyntbridge. Tetranac had summoned a lion that got destroyed almost immediately by the magic missles. Gubikla cast a ring of fire on them that was followed up by a thicket of thorns cast by Tetranac. This caused one of the enemy to dispel the thorns. Bone rushes in not caring that there was a wall of fire. While Othello snuck around and shot them with his crossbow. The party soon clears out the Tieflings and head on west up the main street. Following the tracks of the Tieflings but the tracks are obscured by the snow and Tetranac soon loses the path. The party continue heading on down the main street.
There they find a shot that looks to be still in good shape. After digging the snow away from the door they head in find a shop that has an abundance of fragrances and lingerie. Upstairs seems to more of a bordello. Othello looking out one of the second floor windows sees something fly by. He yells down to Talin who runs out but does not see anything. The party then head west as that is the direction of the flying. They get to a T-intersection that if they go straight they would go into the temple of lady of mercy. They see a indention in the snow in the middle of intersection. This turns out to be a manhole cover. The party had just decided to check out the fairly intact temple before heading down into the sewers, when a large rumble and ground shaking quake started up. Talin thinking it was something coming up told the party to scatter. Instead of a monster emerging a large crevasse opened up with several branches. Bone got caught and is holding on the the edge. Talin rushed over to help him try not to fall in. Tetranac just levitated up so as not to be caught by it, but Gubikla was not so lucky. We think he was able to cast fly on himself but no one has seen him yet.
COD = Bone for not having a care in the world that there was a ring of fire between him and his foe.
